Air Conditioning

Our experience in living in the house is that it keeps relatively warm, and to cool down, opening up enough windows works well. We very, very rarely use the heat pumps for heating or cooling. However, if you would like to use the heat pumps, here is some information on how to do so.

The house has wall-mounted heat pumps in a few rooms, and that is the primary source of both heating and cooling in the house. The heat pumps are controlled by a remote control, which is usually found on the wall near the heat pump. If you cannot find the remote control, please let Jonathan or Julia know.

There are heat pumps in the following locations:

  1. Upstairs living room,
  2. Downstairs living room, and
  3. Upstairs master bedroom.

Using the Heat Pumps

The heat pumps are relatively straightforward to use, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Mode: The heat pumps can be set to either heating or cooling mode. The mode is indicated by the icon on the remote control. The icon with a snowflake is for cooling, and the icon with a flame is for heating.
  2. Temperature: The temperature can be adjusted up or down using the up and down arrows on the remote control. The temperature is displayed on the remote control. In the summer months, we recommend setting the heat pump to 18°C for cooling, and in the winter months, we recommend setting the heat pump to 20°C for heating.
